Collecting and tracking amiibo has become difficult, due to the uproar of new amiibo being released every month. You can always make a list of your current collection and jotting down what you’re needing, but sometimes that could get complicated. Technology is such an amazing tool especially when used to it’s fullest potential. We’ve come across many options to ease this problem, and one of them being a free app available to all IOS users, called ‘AmiiboHunt’. Not only is it free, but the app itself serves it’s purpose featuring a clean UI, which we can all appreciate, and is constantly being updated with push notifications, which is great for anyone who doesn’t want to miss an update, for any amiibo they’re missing to complete their amiibo collection. AmiiboHunt is very easy to use and is hassle free. Not only can you keep track of your amiibo figurines, but the app also let’s you track your amiibo card collection, categorizing them by series and card number. You can also create a wish-list of what you’re needing, which is great and very useful.

NIBWe use the term OOB (Out-Of-Box) & NIB (New-In-Box) to describe what type of collector you could be, and if you’re both this app is great for you! When choosing what amiibo you currently own, you can list whether you have an amiibo in it’s original packaging or out of it’s packaging. Some collectors like to buy two amiibo per character for their collections. One to display, and the other to use. We haven’t seen an app that features this option, until we discovered AmiiboHunt.List

Although the app is not perfect, it is a great alternative to anyone who wants something free to use. One of it’s major flaws has to be it’s ‘Inventory Tracker’. In a couple of occasions we’ve been alerted by the app that a specific amiibo was in stock at our nearby store, once we contacted the store, they didn’t have it in stock. We hope this feature could be improved on notifying accurate stock information. We’ve also noticed that the rarity information listed hasn’t been fully updated with the recent restocks, but we believe this will be updated soon.

We love their ‘Map’ feature, which lists the retailers near us that sell amiibo, displaying accurate directions & opening/closing hours. Featuring a filter option to sort stores that sell amiibo such as GameStop, Walmart, BestBuy, Toys’R’Us, and Target.

The app is available only for Mobile IOS users, and can be downloaded through the App Store. We did speak with the lead developer of AmiiboHunt, Charles Diakoparaskevas and he told us that they’re no plans as of yet on developing the app for Android users, but could be a future possibility. AmiiboHunt has a lot of potential, and is one of our favorite resources for amiibo collecting! You can follow them on Twitter, to stay updated with any future updates coming to the app and to get any information about it.

I have this app and LOVE it! It’s helped me soooo much with my amiibo collecting. When I’m at the store, I can check the scarcity of a specific amiibo, see what games it’s compatible with, find the location of amiibos… the list of features goes on. Point is, it’s a really great app.

Got something to say? Go for it!
