Nintendo of America announced on Tuesday that a Nintendo Direct was incoming and would discuss many updates coming to games for the Wii U & 3DS, as suspected Nintendo was going to reveal updates coming to Smash Bros. Throughout the length of the broadcast, many announcements were made such as release dates for incoming amiibo & games coming early next year. Many of these announcements were expected while others were not. For years Final Fantasy fans speculated and dream’t of a day where Cloud would cross-over to Smash Bros as an incoming fighter to the series. It was thought of being an impossible request which we think was fulfilled due to the Smash Ballot. As the Nintendo Direct was coming to an end, Reggie Fils-Aimé, President and COO of Nintendo Of America, hinted at an incoming trailer approaching making a reference to a new character coming to Smash. As we watched, the soundtrack behind the teaser reminded us of Final Fantasy, but we couldn’t believe this to be true. Fans all over the world also couldn’t believe what they were watching, but Masahiro Sakurai came through. For months we begged for a teaser or some announcement to be made for Smash Bros after the ballot ended, but now it was time.

Cloud’s attacks are very similar to the game and feature a great amount of move-sets that everyone will love. Although the announcement was made, his release date was not. We should be hearing a possible release date and more updates coming to Smash in December. According to the European Nintendo Direct, this incoming Smash Bros broadcast will be the last for the game, but we’ve gotten great amount of DLC for the year since it’s release, and we can only hope that more characters will cross-over for future Smash Bros games.

We are highly certain that Cloud will be getting his own amiibo, and we can only hope that Nintendo will provide more information on these news and any possible incoming fighters.
