Both versions of Fire Emblem: Fates release today and while you are deciding on which version to buy, don’t forget about the awesome amiibo support included in both versions of the game!
Currently all of the available Fire Emblem amiibo will be able to be used in the new 3DS game. amiibo characters will be found within the My Castle section of the game. The first two times you utilize your amiibo, the wandering fighters will give your character a gift. The third time you use your trusty amiibo you will be given a chance to battle the trophy character in hopes to enlist them to your cause.
This begs the question however, will there be eventual compatibility with the upcoming Corrin amiibo? Even though Corrin is the main character of Fates, one could assume there might be a special kind of unlock for using the main character. With Nintendo promising DLC updates for quite a while, an update to increase amiibo compatibility shouldn’t be impossible.

Nintendo will release another story based DLC called Fire Emblem Fates: Revelation on March 10th, which will give players the choice to decide against both factions and carve their own path.
